I recently found The Man Brand Bay Rum Beard Oil and really liked it. In order to support the oil helping keep my beard in good shape I decided to try the matching Beard Balm. I am truly glad I did. It's as good and does compliment the beard oil. I have extremely sensitive skin as well as sinuses, so when choosing what I put on my skin, or what scents I'm around, I must be very careful. The Man Brand's Bay Rum Beard Balm works great for me. There is no reaction and my beard feels good after it's applied. It is not at all "oily" as some can be, and goes on smooth, keeping my beard soft and my skin feeling good. The scent of such products is also a concern, but again, The Man Brand Bay Rum has a great smell that doesn't cause a single issue. It is light, fresh, not at all like a perfume, and enjoyable. Most importantly - after my sensitivities - my wife loves it on me. It goes on at a level that is not too much nor too light, and lasts a good long time. I specifically wanted the Beard Balm to accompany the Beard Oil so that I do not have to worry about competing smells. As they are the same, one would expect them to actually be the same, however it doesn't' always work out that way. In this case then oil and balm scents to blend and are truly the same. Additionally they do not exponentially increase in level when on together - again, a consideration for someone with my sensitivities. In the end I am very happy to have discovered The Man Brand and am a true fan of the Bay Rum line.
I have tried a lot of beard balms over the years, and I have to say, it stands out as one of the best I’ve ever used. I have a fairly thick beard, and keeping it soft and controlled is something that’s always been important to me. This balm does a great job at keeping it soft, without leaving it feeling greasy or weighed down. The texture is smooth and creamy, and it absorbs easily into the hair, so it doesn’t feel like there’s any heavy residue left behind. One of the things I love the most is how it manages to hydrate without making my beard look oily, and that's something that's hard to find. I’ve used some balms in the past that would leave my beard looking shiny, which was fine for a short period, but it quickly became annoying, especially if you have to go out in the sun. With this balm, you don’t have to worry about that at all. The smell is subtle but pleasant. It’s not overpowering like some other products, which is a big plus for me, as I don’t want something that’s going to compete with the cologne I wear. It’s just a clean, light scent that doesn’t linger all day, so you can wear it without worrying about it mixing poorly with anything else. The way it holds your beard in place is just the right amount of control. It doesn’t stiffen your beard, but it does manage to keep the hair from flying all over the place, especially in windy conditions. I have a few flyaways in my beard that I’ve always struggled to manage, but with it, they’re kept in check throughout the day. When I apply it in the morning, my beard stays looking neat and soft well into the evening, which I really appreciate. It doesn’t just hold the beard in place, it nourishes it too. I’ve noticed that my beard feels a lot softer since I started using it consistently. It even seems to help with dryness and split ends, which is something I’ve struggled with for a while. My skin also feels great underneath, so it’s not just the beard that benefits, but the skin as well, which can sometimes be neglected with other products. I should also mention that a little goes a long way. I’ve had the same tin for a few weeks now, and I’ve barely made a dent in it, even though I use it daily. The 1 oz size is perfect for travel too, which is great because I don’t have to worry about carrying around a huge container. One thing that stood out to me compared to other products is the combination of shea butter and beeswax. It’s a nice, natural approach to beard care, and I can tell it’s making a difference in how my beard feels over time. I don’t have to constantly reapply it throughout the day, and I’m not left with any flaky residue. If you’re looking for a beard balm that provides long-lasting hydration, softens your beard, and keeps it under control without feeling greasy, I’d highly recommend it. It’s perfect for everyday use, and I’ve seen a noticeable difference in how my beard feels and looks since using it. It’s hard to find a product that balances all of these qualities so well, but this balm manages to do just that. If you're new to beard balms, this is definitely one to try.
Balm is easy to dig into at room temp. The sandalwood smell is stronger than I expected, and sticks around for quite a while. A bit much for having close to your face.As a balm it is fine. No irritation. Leaves hair shiny, and a lightly greasy.Due to the strong smell I will only use this sparingly on my lower beard. It might work ok as a solid cologne since the sandalwood sticks around for several hours.
I got the "Gentleman's Bourbon" scent of The Man Brand beard balm for my husband, & he's been very pleased with it. Since he started using it, I've noticed he reaches for this particular balm most mornings over his other options. We both love the fragrance; it has a light, masculine scent that's neither too sweet nor too musky. The texture is typical for a balm; it has a solid, but soft, consistency that warms easily in your hands, so you can brush it through with your fingertips. It styles his beard well, taming flyaways, while the natural ingredients condition the hair & are gentle on his sensitive skin. He hasn't had any issues with breakouts or irritation. The small tin easily fits in his shirt pocket, truck console, or toolbox at work, so he can take it with him on the go. While we love the scent, I do wish it were just a bit stronger & lasted longer. I can smell it on him right after he applies it, but it fades quickly. Of course, that’s just our preference, as some people prefer little or no scent. The balm doesn’t leave his beard looking greasy when used sparingly. If applied too heavily, it can look a bit oily, so it’s best to start with a small amount & work in more as needed. The only other small issue is that it doesn’t last all day, so he sometimes reapplies at lunch. It’s not a dealbreaker & doesn’t stop him from using it. He does have naturally thick, curly hair that makes his beard extra coarse, so any balm that helps tame that "beard beast" is a win in my book 😆. Overall, I’d recommend this if you're looking for a natural, effective beard balm with a great scent.
The 1 oz container is a perfect size for my pocket or for traveling when I don’t want to take large containers. The consistency is similar to other beard balms that I’ve used before, so it’s more like a wax then a cream. I use the back of my thumb (the nail side) to scrape out some of the product to use, which I find is the easiest way. The product makes my beard softer and not as fizzy (i.e. it adds some control). I would rank the strength of the aroma as medium to heavy. I got the “Woodsman” and even though it’s a pleasant scent, I wouldn’t call it a woodsman scent, which I’d associate more with the outdoors and trees, vice fruit and spices.
The Man Brand Beard Balm - This beard balm contains a good list of beard softeners. The sweet almond, sunflower, avocado and ricebran oils have good reps for moisturizing, and they seem to be working. The skin underneath feels good too.The beeswax should provide a mild hold and the shea butter should provide a softening effect. I’m seeing a mild straightening of the wildness of my beard, but not a super amount. Really, I wouldn’t want a super straight beard, so it’s o.k.I might wish for some additional ingredients. Jojoba oil mimics natural skin oil and is great for hydration. Argan oil is really good for defrizzing. I’d like to see a statement that the fragrances are all natural, but it’s not there, so they are probably artificial.I want to point out that it has almond oil and shea butter which can trigger allergic reactions if you are sensitive. If not, no problem. This wax is a little softer than other beard balms I have tried and leaves a slightly oily finish. Not terrible, but more than I am used to. It is well blended, easy to scoop up with your fingernail and not clumpy. The scent is a little stronger than I’m used to and verges on the too much. This is almost a really good beard balm so I’m giving it 4 stars.
This Bergamot and Cedar Beard Balm by The Man Brand has a strong scent. If you have a sensitive nose, I recommend using a bit less. It makes my beard feel nice and soft while controlling the curlier hairs in my beard. It's a 1oz size container.
Very happy with this bay rum scented beard balm. The balm is very easy to use and was easy to work into my beard. Definitely provided a moisturizing conditioner, and reduced frizz in my beard. The rum and coconut scent was amazing and I caught the scent multiple times throughout the day. I really enjoyed this balm and will continue to use.
Top notch and staff is amazing
I purchased five different scents of beard oil, balm, and lotions. The scents are great and I particularly love the Gentleman's Bourbon. The products and service are fantastic and I will be purchasing all of my beard products from The Man Brand.
Super fast delivery! Great product!
Good consistency, plus three words.
Love this, smells so good and keeps the stray hairs away. Helps my itchy chin in winter not to greasy just the right amt of hold and scent definitely my favorite
Small but lasts a while. Great scent and keeps my beard tamed.
The product is good overall and does what is advertised. I personally did not care for the fragrance. To me it smells nothing like bourbon.
Great product- unscented and high quality
Its been pretty good so far. Light weight, and I can still run my fingers through my beard and it doesn't feel like I have a lot of product in it.
Es muy buen producto, la barba se siente más suave y manejable
Smells good
I got the fragrance-free Man Brand beard balm. Once I rubbed it into my beard, i got an aroma of all I can describe it as was canned meat. There's nothing in the ingredient list that should have caused that smell, so I don't know if I got a bad batch. Whatever it is, I can't use it. I gave it two stars only for the fact, other than the horrible scent, it seems to work well and I like the consistency
This stuff smells good. It’s not overly sticky like some beard balms. It’s not greasy. The size is good value for the money.
Great product!
The smell is nice and pleasant. It is not overpowering,off-putting or headache inducing. The scent lasts a long time as well. Very soft product and easy to apply. And the best part was the price!!!!!!!!
It's much smaller than what it appears in the photo. And still I love th text of the product
I love when my husband uses beard balm, and this one is a winner! It keeps his beard looking fresh and well-groomed, and the best part—it smells amazing. “Life of the Party” has a natural citrus scent that’s refreshing without being overpowering. Perfect for daily use!
Nice beard balm. Keeps the stragglers from frizzing out, and keeps the hairs smooth and moisturized. The small is nice, and this little container is perfect for travel. Overall, seems great
